Keep the device at least 2 cm away from any metal object, then press the power button to turn it on. Note: It is recommended to perform zero calibration before testing. Step 3. Place the probe vertically and quickly onto the surface until a drop sound is heard. The measured value will appear on the screen. Lift the probe at least 2 cm away from the test piece before taking the next measurement. Note: If the auto-power-off function is enabled, the device will automatically shut down after 3 minutes of inactivity.
