Based on the standard FT232RL chipset, USB to TTL serial cables provide a fast and simple way to connect devices with a TTL level serial interface to USB. These cables are available with a 6-way, 0.1-inch connector, and support 3.3V TTL levels. The TTL-232R series includes USB to TTL serial UART converter cables that incorporate FTDI's FT232RQ USB to Serial UART interface IC, which manages all USB signaling and protocols.
